The idea of soulmates in a story never appealed to me. It felt like lazy writing. Though I  enjoyed some of Lynsay Sands‘ lifemate shenanigans, I always revert back to stories that show how love could grow between two people in time and not in a flick of an eye.

Strangely, Ablaze is set in an alternate universe where people have their predestined soulmates. But our protagonists’ lives are not made easier by that at all. If anything, it frustrates them and makes them sad. But as they say, if it’s meant to be, it will be!

*** If it weren’t for my friend, C’s fixation on soulmates AU’s, this story will not come into fruition. She’s amazing. 🙂
